Los Pochos' Latest CD: Margie's!

"An energetic combination of original and traditional songs. The vocal interplay between Luján and Elliott Baribeault is playful and pleasing throughout Margie's.These toe-tapping, dance-friendly songs have a layer of darkness that makes the celebration all the more poignant."

Los Pochos added to Los Angeles County Musicians Roster

What does this mean?

"The Arts Commission administers the Musicians Roster, the only internet database of vetted musicians in Los Angeles County. Each listing includes audio samples and other details about each group. Organizations applying for Free Concert sponsorship are REQUIRED to select musicians/groups from the Musicians Roster."

We applied this year and were accepted! It's an honor for us to be amongst such talented professionals as Conjunto Jardin and Bombachante, to name a few.

Are you an organization interested in putting on a FREE CONCERT? Applications for next year's FREE CONCERTS program will be available Wednesday, January 17, 2007. Deadline to submit your application is Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Save the dates!

"The Arts Commission accepts applications from community organizations interested in producing and marketing a free concert. Eligible organizations include Los Angeles County-based parks, libraries, hospitals, juvenile halls, probation camps, arts organizations, civic centers, senior citizen centers, and other non-profit performance venues. Applicants must be willing to coordinate all logistics, production and marketing of the event, and show that they can effectively bring in an appropriate audience size for their proposed concert to be considered."

Happy New Year!!! Just in case you were wondering, the CD Sampler is available now... "Margie's" is the cut they chose to use. If you'd like you're "free" CD, contact CD Baby. I believe the deal is that when you order a CD from them, they'll send you a copy of the Sampler, while they have them in stock. Best to contact them directly though if you're really interested in getting one.
